Dear colleagues
It seems that not all associations were able to inform their members about the competition that was launched by our Translation Technology Committee on International Translation Day 2010. It has therefore been decided to extend the date for entries to be submitted. Please inform your members about this opportunity as soon as possible and encourage them to enter. Further information is contained in the announcement below.
Translation Technology Competition
Do you use free software that makes your work more productive or more enjoyable? If so, please send a description of the software, how it benefits you as a translator, and how other translators can obtain a copy. Your name will be entered into a lucky draw organized by the FIT Translation Technology Committee. The information from all submissions will be made available to everyone. The winner will be featured on the FIT website, along with a brief professional profile.
There is no cost to enter the contest. Entrants must belong to a FIT member association and must give the association’s name and their own contact information. The deadline for submitting entries is Friday, 4 February 2011. Entries must be sent in the body of an e-mail to FITtrantech@gmail.com. The winner will be announced later in the month.

Certaines associations n'ont pas encore pu informer leurs membres du concours du meilleur logiciel gratuit pour traducteurs, lancé à la dernière JMT par le Comité de technologie de traduction. La date limite d'envoi des propositions a donc été reportée au 4 février. Merci d'en informer vos membres le plus rapidement possible et de les encourager à y participer. Vous trouverez plus d'informations dans l'annonce ci-dessous.
Concours de technologie de la traduction JMT
Utilisez-vous un logiciel gratuit afin de rendre votre travail plus productif ou plus agréable ? Dans l’affirmative, veuillez nous envoyer une description du logiciel, de ses avantages et de la façon dont les autres traducteurs peuvent l’obtenir. Vous serez inscrit à un tirage organisé par le Comité de technologie de la traduction de la FIT. Tous les renseignements soumis seront accessibles à tout le monde. Le gagnant du concours verra son profil professionnel affiché sur le site web de la FIT.
La participation au concours est gratuite. Les participants doivent appartenir à une association membre de la FIT et préciser le nom de l’association et leurs propres coordonnées. Les inscriptions pour le concours doivent être envoyées au plus tard le vendredi 4 février 2011 dans le corps d’un courriel à FITtrantech@gmail.com. Le nom du gagnant sera annoncé plus tard en février 2011.
